Digital Technologies in the Classroom

1. SMARTtech has pre-made lesson plans that can be downloaded for each content area, which includes programs for special education.
2. This program is internationally recognized and is compatible with all operating systems.
3. Touch sensitive rather than having to rely on a mouse.
4. As simple as a whiteboard but is as powerful as a computer.
5. Work can be saved so that the teacher does not have to start fresh every day.
6. Can be mobile which provided more options.
7. Cost per student is $8.09 making a classroom total (with supplies and maintenance) about $5100.00. This cost compared to the cost for a classroom set of textbooks is about twice as much; however, textbooks go out of date and are not interactive. The SMARTboard is a better investment for student learning.
